俗语说：“拳不离手，曲不离口。”拳师每天要练拳，歌手每天要练嗓子，我们学习英语也要坚持朗读英语，只有每天坚持朗读英语，才能提高我们的口语水平。朗读英语不仅有助于培养我们的英语思维能力，还能够提高听力水平。为了鼓励19D的学生进行口语练习，调动其积极性，我们英语教学部开展了朗读活动，今日朗读者:柴玉盈、马芝帆、蔡静雯、贾祥婷。

人生大智慧

I've learned that sometimes all a person need

is a hand to hold and a heart to understand .

我明白了有时一个人所需要的仅仅是一只可以紧握的手

和一颗能够互相理解的心。

I've learned that

the Lord didn't do it all in one day.

What makes me think I can?

我明白了上帝并不是一天就创造了世界。

我又何必认定自己能在一天之内做好所有的事情呢?

I've learned that love,not time,heals all wounds.

我明白了能够治愈一切创伤的是爱，而不是时间。

I've learned that every one you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.

我明白了遇到的每一个人都值得用微笑去面对。

I've learned that there's nothing sweeter than sleeping with your babies

and feeling their breath on your cheeks.

我明白了没有比跟孩子睡在一起

并感觉他们的呼吸在脸旁更为甜美的事情了。

I've learned that no one is perfect

until you fall in love with them.

I've learned that opportunities are never lost;

someone will take the ones you miss.

because tomorrow he may have to eat them.

to improve your looks.

I've learned that I can't choose how I feel,

I've learned that it is best to give advice in only two circumstances:

when it is requested and when it is a life threatening situation.

the more things I get done.

Treasure Every Person You Meet

珍惜你邂逅的每一个人

We don't meet people by accident.

我们遇见的每一个人都是缘分。

Every person you meet

will have a role in your life

be it big or small.

无论大小，遇到的每一个人，都将在你独一无二的人生中扮演不同的角色。

Some will help you grow

some will hurt you

some will inspire you to do better.

有人助你成长，有人历练你，也有些人鼓励你去做的更好。

At the same time

you are playing some roles

in their lives as well.

与此同时，你也在这些人的人生中，扮演着不一样的角色。

Know that paths cross for a reason

and treat people with significance.

知道相遇不会是无缘无故的交集，就会明白要真诚地对待别人。

The best teachers

are those who don't tell you

how to get there

but show the way.

最好的老师，不是纸上谈兵给你答案，而是授人以渔的言传身教。

There is no better joy

than helping people

see a vision for themselves,

seeing them go to levels higher

than they ever would have imagined

on their own.

没有什么比帮助他人，认清自己、提升自己、超越自己，让我们更愉悦的事情了。

But that doesn't mean

you have to fix them

or enable them;

instead,

guide them to the source

of their own power.

但这并不是说我们要纠正或强制他们，而是引导他们挖掘自己的内心的潜能。

Offer them support and motivation

as they find their own way

and show you what they're capable of.

当他们找到属于自己的方向，展示自己的时候，让我们给予帮助和掌声。

All you have to do

is believe in them.

你能做的就是坚信他们可以做到。

Never look down on someone

unless you are helping them up.

绝不轻视他人除非我们在帮助他成长。

Appreciate those

who have supported you,

forgive those who have hurt you,

help those who need you.

感激那些支持你的人，原谅那些伤害你的人，帮助那些需要你的人吧。

Treat all people

including yourself

with love and compassion,

and you can't go wrong.

心怀爱和同情地对待所有人，包括你自己，这样才会圆满顺利。

Treat people the way

you want to be treated

and life will instantly get better.

待他人，如同你所希望被对待的方式，生活定会因此而更美好。

Never Give Up Hope

永不放弃希望

Life doesn't always give us the joys we want. We don't always get our hopes and dreams, and we don't always get our own way. But don't give up hope, because you can make a difference one situation and one person at a time.

生活并非总是如你所愿。希望有时会落空，梦想有时会破灭，我们不能一切随心所愿。但别放弃希望，因为凡事并非一成不变;不同时间，不同场合，你会呈现不同的面貌。

Look for the beauty around you-in nature, in others, in yourself-and believe in the love of friends, family, and humankind. You can find love in a smile or a helping hand,in a thoughtful gesture or a kind word. It is all around, if you just look for it.

处处留心你身边的美丽:自然中的美，他人的美，自己的美。请相信，美来自朋友、家庭乃至全人类的融融爱意。一个微笑，一双援助之手，一个关心的举动，一句友善的话语，无不传达着爱。如果你有心去寻找，爱会无处不在。

Give love, for in giving it you will find the power in life along with the joy, happiness, patience and understanding.Believe in the goodness of others and remember that anger and depression can be countered by love and hope.

奉献爱心吧，从中你会发现生活的力量，感受生活带来的幸福快乐，学会忍耐和理解。相信人性本善。记住，爱心和希望能化解一切愤怒和沮丧。

Even when you feel as though there isn't a lot you can do to change unhappiness or problems, you can always do a little-and a little at a time eventually makes a big difference.

哪怕生活中挥之不去的不快和困难将你重重包围，让你力不从心，但你仍可以尽力而为。累积点滴努力，最终你将扭转乾坤。

Active happiness- not mere satisfaction or contentment-often comes suddenly,like an April shower or the unfolding of a bud.Then you discover what kind of wisdom has accompanied it.

积极的快乐——并非单纯的满意或知足——通常不期而至，就像四月里突然下起的春雨，或是花蕾的突然绽放。然后，你就会发觉与快乐结伴而来的究竟是何种智慧。

The grass is greener,birds songs sre sweeter,the shortcomings of you friends sre more understandable and more forgivable.Happiness is like a pair of eyeglasses,correcting your spiritual vision.

草地更为青翠，鸟鸣更为甜美，朋友的缺点也变得更能让人理解、宽容。快乐就像一副眼镜，可以矫正你的精神视力。

Nor are the insights of happiness limited to what is near around you.Unhappy,with your thoughts turned in upon your emotional woes.your vision is cut short as though by a wall.Happy,the wall crumbles.

快乐的视野并不仅限于你周围的事物。当你不快乐时，你的思维陷入情感上的悲哀，你的眼界就像被一道墙给阻隔住了。而当你快乐时，这道墙会砰然倒塌。

The long vista is there for the seeing,the ground at your feet,and the world about you-people,thoughts,emotions and pressures are now fitted into the larger scene.Everything assumes a fairer proportion.And here is the beginning of wisdom.

你的眼界更为宽广，你脚下的大地，你身边的世界，包括人的思想，思想，情感，和压力，现在都融入了更为广阔的景象中，期间每件事物都是智慧的开始。

听了学姐的朗读，19D的同学们有很多的感想，让我们一起来看一下吧！

19D英教二班的付观爱：今天早晨听了学姐的朗读，就知道学姐一定在课下做了充分的准备， 她的发音比较标准  ，在语调方面听起来也是抑扬顿挫 。 以后我们要像她学习， 不断的练习 ，提升我们的口语能力。

19D英教二班的白晨晨：学姐的朗读把握住了语速和感情。我们应该向学姐学习 ，在朗读中注重语速和感情。另外，我认为在英语学习中，朗读能够帮助我们调整语音语调，所以朗读者活动应多多益善。

19D英教二班的薛凝：听完学姐的朗读，我觉得语调还挺好的，语句也很流畅，但感觉有点缺乏感情，声音应该更大一些，不过总体来说还是比较好的，但我觉得还能够做得更好，提出小小的建议，希望能够一起取长补短，共同进步。
